What Jackie Did… Picked A Winning Team
Well good afternoon RMW and all you beautiful brides and gorgeous grooms!
I have to start my first blog by thanking all you wonderful people who voted for us, we were totally shocked and touched that so many people supported us. For me, to have the chance to share our journey with you all is massively exciting… Ok and a tad scary but here we go, wish me luck lovelies! So, grab a cuppa and get comfy let’s recap and meet Team Curtis!
Our Special Story
Rewind to November 2012 we’re at our special place in Koh Lanta, Paul and I have been out for an amazing meal looking over the blue prom dresses. After a few cocktails we are wandering back to our resort when we stopped to look at some super cute hearts that had been drawn in the sand and to gaze at the stars. It was totally romantic and secluded just us, then before I knew it Paul was down in the sand on one knee asking me to be his wife! Lots of tears, jumps for joy and celebrating followed. Take note; do not celebrate with one too many cocktails when you are scheduled to go diving the next day – bad idea! View more ....
Aspen by Jenny Packham For A Pretty And Elegant South African Wedding
Morning guys n gals, and how be you today? It's not often we venture over to foreign shores for our weddings but today we're off to South Africa for the wedding of Audrey and James, which took place on 30 March 2013 at Lockestone Farm, outside the small town of Stanford in the Western Cape of South Africa.
Designer Audrey, who was a regular reader of Love My Dress whilst planning her wedding, looked completely elegant and graceful in her Aspen dress by Jenny Packham...
"I actually saw and fell in love with the Aspen gown by Jenny Packham when Kate Middleton wore a bespoke teal green version. I just knew I was going to get married in that dress one day.
It is an elegant vintage-inspired lace and satin gown and sums up my style completely, so when I found a shop sample for sale online, I decided to buy it then and there (a ballsy move, considering we weren’t even engaged yet!). I loved everything about it. It was the only wedding dress I ever really looked at and the only one I could see myself getting married in. It was love at first sight."

Turning Vintage Inspiration In To Modern Bridal Elegance, With Sally Lacock and Cherished Vintage Accessories
Anyone who reads this blog regularly and is familiar with my book will know that I've a big fondness for vintage inspired bridal wear that pays true respects to the aesthetic and fashions/styles of times gone by. There are so many timeless and elegant styles that we can steal from the past to make our modern-day weddings look breathtakingly beautiful.
One of my favourite wedding dress designers who shares my fondness for vintage, is Sally Lacock. London based Sally is renowned for creating vintage inspired bridal gowns made of the finest French lace and sumptuous silk for today’s modern bride. She draws inspiration from the decadent days of the 1920’s and the artistic sensibility of Edwardian bohemia, through to the elegance and femininity of the 1950’s, and she does this in her own unique and inimitable way. I am totally in love with Sally's exquisite designs and love that fact that Sally pays so much respect to time-honoured skills when it comes to actually producing her garments. This is a designer who really knows her stuff and has a huge passion for her craft - the kind of person you want to be designing your wedding dress.

These particular images really appeal to me for the sensitive portrayal of the modern day vintage inspired bride and I truly adore the way that Sally has teamed her gowns with the utterly beautiful creations of Cherished vintage wedding dresses. That crown - someone really really needs to wear that on their wedding day and then send us all the photographs to feature - please! View more ....
